Cast your mind back to the cusp of Autumn / Winter 2013 – one boot ruled the runway and graced the feet of every fashionista going. Well a pair of boots actually, it wasn’t that kind of trend. The Balenciaga Ceinture Boots where everything. The style of these cut-out boots with statement buckles was a force to be reckoned with. Of course the high street and designers a like queued up to release their take on this “it” boot.
I myself bought New Look‘s offering. As affordable and close to this style as i could find. I was chuffed. I’d been a biker boots kind of girl but was absolutely loving the cut-out trend. They gave off the same type of toughness due to the buckles though so i was all over them. With jeans or dresses, being super comfy with leggings and even with tights later in the year just like the originals.
Over the past year I’ve seen a huge influx of Ceintures being reborn on my Instagram feed. A few of my favourite bloggers were sporting theirs again. Hold the phone – The cult favourite had been re-released AGAIN. I won’t lie and say i didn’t fall in-love with them all over again. Not so much the €865 price tag though. A girl can but dream. Looking back, the ones i mentioned buying a few years ago are now very chunky. Or bulky i’m not sure but they don’t sit right with me anymore. Off i went on the hunt.
Enter Ego. Seriously affordable at €45.99 which is not only great for for a designer look but also for a decent pair of boots. Especially with this much kick. I can’t believe that i’ve got this far without using that pun. Couldn’t help it, it’s in my sole. Too much? I have to say, i really like this pair. They have the same patent finish to them and high tongue detail. The shape is just beautiful and the silver hardware looks very luxe. The fact that this pair don’t have the cut out detail makes even more wearable for the likes of you and i. Not clunky at all which will look perfect with ankle grazer jeans. Complete with the same type of statement features for a fraction of the designer tag. My personal favourite way to style tough boots is to pair them with a floaty dress. The contrast between the two is magical, well i think so anyways. How About you?
As if there aren’t enough reasons to go for these killer boots, here are some ways to wear. The perfect footwear for festival season. Great for keeping feet warm and dry all weekend. Not to mention winter being still being here.
There you have it. Get the ultimate cut-out A/W designer inspired boot for less. Do these make the cut against the originals for you?
