Cast your mind back to the cusp of Autumn / Winter 2013 – one boot ruled the runway and graced the feet of every fashionista going. Well a pair of boots actually, it wasn’t that kind of trend. The Balenciaga Ceinture Boots where everything. The style of these cut-out boots with statement buckles was a force to be reckoned with. Of course the high street and designers a like queued up to release their take on this “it” boot.
I myself bought New Look‘s offering. As affordable and close to this style as i could find. I was chuffed. I’d alwaya been a biker boots kind of girl but was absolutely loving the cut-out trend. They gave off the same type of toughness due to the buckles so i was all over them. With jeans or dresses, being super comfy with leggings and even with tights later in the year just like the originals.
Over the past year or so i’ve seen a huge influx of Ceintures being reborn on my Instagram feed. A few of my favourite bloggers were sporting theirs again. Hold the phone – The cult favourite had been re-released AGAIN. I won’t lie and say i didn’t fall in-love with them all over again. Not so much the €1000 plus price tag though. A girl can but dream. Looking back, the ones i mentioned buying a few years ago are now seem too chunky. Or bulky i’m not sure but they don’t sit right with me anymore. Off i went on the hunt.
Balenciaga Ceinture Boots – Get The Look
I’ve been on the hunt for a more current “dupe”. Enter the high street and all of it’s offerings. I found two really good pairs, first up is the above option from Ego. Seriously more affordable at €45.99, which is not only great for for a designer look-a-like but also for a decent pair of boots. Especially with this much kick. I can’t believe that i’ve got this far without using that pun. Couldn’t help it, it’s in my sole. Too much? I have to say, i really like this pair. They have the same patent finish to them and high tongue detail. The shape is just beautiful and the silver hardware looks very luxe. The fact that this pair don’t have the cut out detail actually makes them even more wearable for the likes of you and i. Not clunky at all which will look perfect with ankle grazer jeans. Complete with the same type of statement features for a fraction of the designer tag.
Next i came across the above bargain pair on Missguided. €22! Yep. These do have the cut out detail but come in a pebbleb matt finish that will probably work better for the less daring. To me these look more expensive then the high shine patent types. I really like the stud trim around the soul too. Infact i might just have buy these myself. The buckle shape is very similar and i think these really give the look for less. Not clunky moon boots either. I can see these fitting into my wardrobe well.
Finally, if possible, is an even more extremely affordable option. This offering is almost a combination of the first two pairs above. Complete with infamous cut-out details and the statement hardware buckles. Not only does the buckle come in two different mettalic shades but the leather does two. The silver pair is a high shine finish giving the luxe vibes of the originals, while the gold is a more muted matte leather . A pretty decent designer look a like for well under €15! I personally like the silver option more but the gold give the look too. All in all there is more choice than i had first imagined when trying to find the look for less.
Ways To Wear Cut Out Boots
As if there aren’t enough reasons to go for this killer style of boots, here are some ways to wear. The perfect footwear for festival season. Great for keeping feet warm and dry all weekend. Not to mention winter being still being here in Ireland. My personal favourite way to style tough boots like this is to pair them with a floaty dress. The contrast between the two is magical, well i think so anyways. How About you?
