I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are not too confused about day it even is. It’s that time though when you wake from the 3 day food coma to the realisation that you have nothing to wear for New Years Eve. I thought a little Fifty Friday was in order (it’s Friday BTW) with a collection of last minute New Years Eve Looks for under fifty Euro. Simple as that i suppose. How it’s here already i will never know. It also only feels like yesterday since i styled my first issue of In Tallaght Magazine, a New Years Eve Shoot. Time is on fast forward i tell ya. Something dawned on me though on Stephenses night…

Here we are lads, December. When did that happen? And don’t say today you smart alics , it was a retorical question. Check me out with me big words lol. So yes back to business. The ever popular Fifty Friday has been on the missing list as of late. I want to rectify that.   I am slowly giving in to the fact that summer is over but i am not quite ready to give up on all my favourite seasonal pieces just yet. However time is moving and needs must as it is the coldest Winter in five years – Fact! With Christmas fastly aproaching money gets really tight so i thought this weeks edition calls for some affordable…

Quite often fashion posts consist of really dressy pieces and outfits worthy of a night on the tiles. Occasion looks seem to take centre stage. I get it I do, i’m as guilty as charged. These events require a little something special. Dressing up is really fun and a chance for us to experiment and wear some pieces we wouldn’t normally get a chance to. But what about our day-to-day wardrobe, after all aren’t these the clothes we spend most of our time in. The clue is in the words ‘ day to day ‘. You know the stuff we get up in the morning and grab. Be it for work, the school run or college, we all need to…

Sale season is well and truly upon us. Everywhere you look there is a neon sign or % off catching your attention. It can be a such a chore to cift through sale rails. Aint nobody got time for that. Most pieces that get reduced have limited sizes left which can be so annoying. I have found though whilst doing my daily online sweep of my fave stores that the H&M sale is quite decent. It is not bitty or full of crappy pieces. I am still on the holiday buzz with Summer styles all that i am looking at. You can see my own holiday outfits here and here.   For this installment of Fifty Friday i was able…

Communion season is well and truly here. After dressing the little ones , panic usually sets in and Mammys , Aunties , Nannys , You name it , realise they haven’t got a thing in for themselves. I think we put a lot of pressure on this occasion and really build it up. Of course it is the little ones big day but over thinking and stressing over an outfit can get really out of hand. You want to be church appropriate but comfortable throughout the day and probably not something you will cringe looking back at photos in years to come.   This weeks Fifty Friday subject therefore is affordable looks to wear to a Communion. There is enough…

It is always a tricky one this time of year. Everyone is still broke and wrecked after the festive period. January can be such a long cold month that is just mehhh on so many levels. The shops are no better either really. You have either got bitty sale rails still hanging around or full on summer clothes. Most of the new season pieces that have arrived are out of the New Year budget for most of us. There is one place that wouldn’t see us stuck though. Our old reliable friend Penneys. Yes, they have some great reductions in-store and yes their swimwear section is filling up fast , but they haven’t forgot about the here and now. Bringing you pieces…

The embroidery trend has been huge. Transitioning really well from Summer boho into rich Winter appropriate wear. What started out as a few threads on some denim has really took over the shops. This type of detail adds real interest to an outfit. Fitting in really well with the luxe fabrics and notions that A/W brings. The perfect go-to for the party season for those who are not into all the sparkle and jazz but still want something special. A fine example is a Look i put together here. Something i am fine to continue to do if pieces like that skirt stick around. This is trend that works for day too when you can embroider just about anything. As usual…

A couple of weeks back i put together a Look Of The Day post focusing around a velvet dress. I have been meaning to delve more into this trend ever since. The fact that i can incorporate it in a Fifty Friday post, well that is even better. Each look here consists of a piece of velvet in some description , put together as a whole outfit for under €50. Velvet is a perfect Winter fabric. Warm and cosy from the look to the touch. Like i said in that post , the one thing i do love about A/W fashion is how rich and luxurious the clothing is. Decedent prints and opulent fabrics, the whole feel is very regal . A really…

It’s that time again mmwaaaaha-ha-haaaaw. Halloween is just around the corner incase the incessant amount of bangers and fireworks haven’t given it away. Legit jumping out of my skin daily. So the big dilemma as always is – what to dress up as. I have put together some costume inspiration that you can grab easily from some of your favourite stores. A far cry from the throw a black bag over your head and you’re sorted days. Halloween Costumes I feel there are three types of girls on Halloween. 1- The Sexy / Slutty ANYTHING kind. Umm yeah Hun there is nothing sexier than a giant baby. Blokes love that. The 31st of October is just one giant excuse to wear as…
