It’s been awhile since i done one of these posts. I’ve been pushing myself to get back into doing all the posts i loved putting together and thought a Fashion Favourites was long overdue. Looking back at the things i have been loving and living in during May, June and July. Some wardrobe staples and fun new additions.
Here are a mix of things i have been loving over the past three months. Some clothing , shoes , accessories and even a phone case. I can hopefully show you the ways i have been wearing my favourites and can link some other options so if you are interested you can shop the post. Here goes…
Red Adidas Campus
Probably my favourite thing i’ve bought this year and i am still not even near sick of them. If you follow me on Instagram this one will be no suprise to you. I genuinely couldn’t tell you how many times i have worn these because it’s pretty much been a daily occurance. So easy to throw on but still have a pop of colour and interest on your feet. I have really enjoyed pairing these runners with more than just jeans and leggings. My favourite has been a combo of midi skirts and tees this Summer. Originally i was after Gazelles but i am so glad i opted for the Campus instead as the tone is fab. I have remarked that i actually like these more than my Superstars and i adore them so.
Not only was i lucky enough to be invited by Littlewoods to see Taylor Swift from their box in Croke Park but i also got to pick an outfit to wear. I instinctivly knew what i wanted. Two pieces actually and i thought i’m gonna make these work. The first piece was this camoflague jacket and the bamboo bag but more on that later. A camo jacket was high up on my wishlist and i had this actual one saved in my basket so it was a no brainer. I’m still wearing the khaki jacket from the previous Spring V By Very collection. I’ve got so much wear from it and it’s not something that tires for me much like biker jackets. I fancied having an actual camo print one though to add in with my khaki and ultility jacket collection. To me it’s the ideal option for a concert. Kinda cool but effortless. Festivals too for sure. I was able to dress it up here with a wrap skirt and heels. You could easily pair with jeans and heels too with a band tee for a laid back dressy-casual look. Day to day i wear this with leggings and my campus runners. So easy to throw on but still feel a little cool.
Kylies Kloset Phone Case
Like the peanuts…that’s me. Chuffed with my new phone case. I’ve had a plain black on my phone since i got it at Christmas and that is just not me. I usually have really statement , borderline OTT cases with 3D pieces and chains hanging off them lol. This mono marble case from Kylieskloset.ie is defos more me. It was a lovely treat to receive. My first thoughts where how well made it was. When i went to pick it up i didn’t expect it to feel how it did and be so sturdy. It can be hard to find nice covers for Samsungs too. I am a sucker for personalised pieces so this was right up my street and my phone looks so much prettier. I think these cases would make a cool gift too. It’s a thumbs up from me.
Western Buckle Belt
It can be really hard to get nice plus size belts. Ones that actually fit properly so are functional but also look good. The western buckle trend has been around awhile but never more so than this Summer. I jumped on this belt as soon as i saw it. Belts are a big wardrobe staple for me as i need the definition in my waist. I need certain pieces pulled in and give me shape. Might aswell make the belt nice to look at right. I’ve been wearing this one with dresses and tunics but also sitting on the waistline of midi skirts to add a little something. The lighter colour option that is available is perfect for Summer too. I nabbed a tan one from Penneys for €5 which i styled in my latest collab with them. You can see that here. So for those who aren’t plus size this is a handy and affordable option for you.
Lace Up Sandals
I dived on these sandals head first when i saw the press pic of them. Midi heels have all i have been able to manage for a long time. With a midi height you don’t have to compromise on style for comfort and i love that. Day to night , bar to club, your feet will thank you for it. This style was HUGE the last two Summers when Mango released a similar style. They were such a sucess they were repeated the following Summer. Other stores and brands took notice of their popularity and thankfully got on board with their own versions. I have got soooo much wear already from these bargain €16 pairs. The black more so obvs being such a basic staple but the pink has gone with several looks for me too. You can see the pink paired with the pleated midi skirt below. The perfect height for holidays too and if you check out my Marrakech Lookbook you can see just how i wore them. I am only raging now that i didn’t nab the tan also. As these have no doubt sold through i’ve put together the other offerings that i have came across that you can shop if you like the look of these. There are lots of different colours , variation of straps and heel height. Even some wide fitting options.
Pleated Midi Skirt
I’m having such a midi skirt moment this season. The versatility is it for me. With flat sandals , heels , boots or my personal fave with a tee and runners. This is pretty much uniform at the moment and i am beyond fine with that. It’s were my mind goes to and what i want to be wearing. The perfect balance between comfy and cool. Tackling the red and pink trend for a second time here, one that is really growing on me. This is what i wore the River Island A/W preview in June. The print in this pleated H&M skirt tied in perfect with the tone of my adidas campus that i told ya’s you would see more of throughout this post. Love it when these things come together. The skirt is a size 18 due to the resizing that H&M are doing and it is really comfy with more stretch if i needed it.
I wore this skirt again while on Holidays in Marrakech but in a completely different way. I’m done done with it either. Serious value for money right here. There was a plain red version too that sold out so quickly before i could get my hands on it. No fear though as there are many a midi on the market including this new grey version. I need for A/W!
Basket & Straw Bags
I’ll combine these two or we will be here all night! I have rarely been seen the past few months without either hanging off my arm or in my hand. I’m completely hooked. While scrolling back through my Instagram to put together this post i was like straw bag, basket bag, straw bag, straw bag, repeat. You will have already seen in the post me holding a straw clutch, a mini straw basket bag and a wooden style bamboo bag. This is definetly one of my favourite trends this Summer. The natural materials tie in perfectly with the Spring/Summer season. There has been so much choice too with this one. I wanted to go full on Dorothy and get a basket that Toto would die for but my mother said i needed to draw the line. The only draw bag is these aren’t the easiest to pack or travel with but worth it in my opinion. I only spoke recently about had my style has matured when it comes to bags. I’ve long had such a relationship with statement bags. More on the novelty side though but i feel with these styles i am getting all of the statements and interest while being really chic.
That is all for now. What have you been loving in your wardrobe lately?
* I am lucky enough to be gifted items from brands. This does in no way influence my thoughts or decisions. All opinions are my own. Any pieces i receive i have choose myself and am very grateful. I only wear/share things that i really love.
