A couple of weeks back i put together a Look Of The Day post focusing around a velvet dress. I have been meaning to delve more into this trend ever since. The fact that i can incorporate it in a Fifty Friday post, well that is even better. Each look here consists of a piece of velvet in some description , put together as a whole outfit for under €50.
Velvet is a perfect Winter fabric. Warm and cosy from the look to the touch. Like i said in that post , the one thing i do love about A/W fashion is how rich and luxurious the clothing is. Decedent prints and opulent fabrics, the whole feel is very regal . A really easy way to achieve this look is to play with texture. Mixing up different textures really add some dimension and interest to an outfit making it look more expensive. Heavier Winter materials are just synonymous with this feel. Lace , velvet , leathers , Suede and faux fur are all key fabrics to try if you want to explore this more.
Velvet is a really easy way to do this smart kind of winter dressing. Day or night. Go The whole hog with this stunning midi dress from Penneys. In a smooth burgundy velvet , this will make a great party dress this Christmas. Don’t be afraid to add some sparkle and further texture either. More is more with this one. If this look is too much for you simply add a velvety accessory to really build on an outfit. Add a pair of ballet flats in this fabric of choice for an easy way to inject some luxe to your day to day wardrobe. A slinky scarf can do just this too.
