Golden Globes | Red Carpet Round-up

Award Season is now upon us. Kicking off the main events is the Golden Globes. Known for it’s red carpet style, this year is certainly no different. All in all i am impressed and pleased with the looks tonight. No major risks took but not too safe either. Jlo pulled an Angelina with her leg posed out of her mustard Giambattista Valli gown . She looks smoking hot though. I waited and waited for my usual reliable Kate Hudson. Yes her body is amazing in Micheal Kors but this look let me down. The colour washes her out and is too nude. Just not a yes for me.

A couple of themes were very evident on the carpet tonight. From jewel tones to white neutrals You can see those here.

A standout colour on tonights Red carpet has to this mustard yellow tone. Rocked in three different ways. America Ferrera went for a grecian style Jenny Packham number. I thought the shape suited her well, although she looked somewhat paler against her dress. Next up was Gone Girl star Lola Kirke in one of my fave designers – Monique L’hullier. Again quite a grecian drape style but very flattering. Finally over to the queen of the carpets lately. Jennifer Lopez is just getting better with age. She looks stunning in this modern Giambattista Valli gown. Lots of fabric but with this dress it adds to the drama of the look. Happy to see such fresh bright colours walking tonight.

Matching ones dress to the carpet has been an age old tradition. Classic but less safe than black. Here we see three varying shades from crimson to pillarbox. Zendaya looks elegentally full of drama in  this tierred Marchesa gown. It suits her frame well without swamping her. The colour looks great against her skin and hair. I love the detail of this J Mendel dress on Natalie Dormer. I’m all about the arm detail myself. The dress then falls to floor effortlessly. Lastly in red is queen of the Award Falls Ms Jennifer Lawerence. I like the colour of this Dior dress but am not totally sold on the cut out sides. The layered crop top detail though is cool. Something is a miss with JLaws hair/tan combo though i feel.

It’ll be all white on the night. A yes to all 3 looks here. Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton. Lots of detail but pretty and subtle in keeping with the dress. Our very own Saoirse Ronan looked so angelic in a whiter than white YSL number.A grecian, draped silhoutte again. Surprisingly the white looks fine next to her irish skin. Lastly is a dreamy Marchesa gown on Lily James. A slight bridal vibe to this dress but it is Marchesa so you know. Thumbs up from me.

Regal navy blue was a very popular choice with tonights attendees. There were a few blue gowns seen but i chose these two as they both showed off such embellished detail. Mrs Tatum looks sensational in Zuhair Murado. The opulence. The silhoutte is gorgeous. The deep V neckline works because the skirt is so full. Equally Viola Davis works sheet navy beauty. A more covered choice from Marchesa. Really magical and rich without being too over the top. Very elligent glamour all round here.

I think my best dressed tonight is Corinne Foxx , closely followed by Jenna Dewan. Corinne is the Daughter of Jamie Foxx and this years Miss Golden Globes. An opulent choice full of detail. By couturer Paolo Sebastian. Absolutely stunning.

All in all a well dressed carpet. Who was your best dressed? Roll on the Oscars.
