Look Of The Day #41

That is some serious stormy weather out there. A night for the winter woolies. H&M have a great offer on these shaggy faux fur jackets at the moment. Only €27.99 right now. That’s a very good price for a faux fur or a good winter jacket  anyways but considering these types of styles don’t date at all so the cost per wear is practically free. It just looks so snuggly.     The cream colour-way shown above would look so good styled with burnt oranges, mustard tones and tan boots. Very Autumnal shades. The cream is a lighter, less harsh colour option than the black. Harder to keep clean yes but different.   It’s been a minute since i posted…

Irish Blog Awards 2017

I was both shocked and thrilled to be a finalist in the V By Very Irish Blog Awards for the second year in a row. I’ll try not to bore ye with my ramblings again but if you fancy it you can read last years post here. How was that a year alread?     As a finalist in the fashion category i was dressed by the award sponsors and my faves Littlewoods Ireland. Head to toe in V By Very. As always the choice was nearly too much that i struggled. The theme of the awards night was Movie Icons so i decided to go in the Hollywood Glamour direction. I chose this red prom dress with lace detailing. The dress…

Penneys Embroidered Heels | Ways To Wear

It’s not uncommon for the powerhouse that is Penneys to bring out such statement pieces. They just keep setting them up and knocking them out of the park. With these eye catching pieces comes mass hysteria. You just have to have them and sure they are so affordable why wouldn’t you. Yes that is true but i also have a wardrobe full of  ‘dirt cheap’ shoes that i never actually wore. With this pair i wanted to look at ways these embroidered heels can be worn so you can actually get the wear from your purchase.   Embroidered Heels The shoe itself looks quite expensive. It has a great shape to it that will suit the foot well. The platform…

Online Shopping | My Tips & Tricks

I love shopping, i think that goes without saying, but i’m not into actually going into the shops all that much. I am however a massive fan of online shopping. I know you can’t get a proper feel of fabric or fit through a screen but there are a lot of other benefits. I’ve got to know my postman much better lol.     First off, it is so much easier to navigate around a site than a messy shop. A lot of my favourite shops let me down when it comes to their layout and in-store customer service. I find the rails can be very packed making it almost impossible to look at sizes or styles that are crammed in at the back. I also…

Fifty Friday | Day To Day looks

Quite often fashion posts consist of really dressy pieces and outfits worthy of a night on the tiles. Occasion looks seem to take centre stage. I get it I do, i’m as guilty as charged. These events require a little something special. Dressing up is really fun and a chance for us to experiment and wear some pieces we wouldn’t normally get a chance to. But what about our day-to-day wardrobe, after all aren’t these the clothes we spend most of our time in. The clue is in the words ‘ day to day ‘. You know the stuff we get up in the morning and grab. Be it for work, the school run or college, we all need to…

New Look WTF Offer | Tartan Bardot Top

This weeks WTF offer from New Look is a very Autumnal piece in the style of a tartan bardot top complete with peplum. An absolute bargain at only at €9.99. Tartan and check prints are always big business for Autumn Winter but i think that this shape on this top is very modern. Lots of volume in the sleeves and finished with a pretty peplum hemline. A little bargain to start the dreaded season trasition.     I’ve styled it here 3 different ways. A transitional, cool night look, an easy no fuss oufit and a day to day look. The only thing that sprung to mind was that a slim bottom is needed to keep proportions right with such…

Fashion Favourites | May & June

I cannot believe it is July already. Bang smack in the middle of Summer, well in some countries. It is time to look back on what i have been wearing and loving the past two months. My fashion favourites from May and June gone by. Every time i go to put together these posts i’m like this one is going to be the most boring yet but i really believe that this time. I feel like I’ve done nothing but watch Love Island in my pj’s, for the past month anyways. With regards to May i was away in the sun so everything i wore was very Summery. A very last minute put together holiday wardrobe i must say. I shared…

Penneys Floral Dress | Ways To Wear

Every now and again a piece comes along that makes you go ‘ I can’t believe that is Penneys ‘. In recent times this phrase is said more and more often. Affordable , to the minute fashion that ticks so many boxes. I posted the pieces that caught my eye on a recent trip to Penneys on my Facebook and Instagram stories. This floral dress was a big hit. A bargain that i haven’t seen as much potential in since this one.   This floral dress is one of those stand out pieces. One that can be worn so many ways. A flattering shape and fit with a playful feel. The bright yellow base is perfect for the summer. The bold…

Does Size Matter ?

This weekend i encountered my first piece of negativity with regards to my blog. Sure you could say i am lucky that in what, three years, that this is the first time that i have been met with a hateful comment. It’s funny that it is considered luck when in reality why is this even a thing? I am the firmest believer in freedom of speech and love hearing other peoples thoughts and opinions on things. I draw the line at offensive , abusive and down right nasty words though. That my friends has no place on public forums or indeed in life. As my mother always says ” if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at…
