Look Of The Day #32

Not to get ahead of myself here but this is quite possibly one of the most beautiful dresses to have ever graced my vision. I think i said something similar to this last year about another dress which happened to be lace and also from ASOS. Can you see a theme here?    ASOS is definitely my go-to for occasion wear. They haven’t let me down yet. I have a *cough cough* big birthday coming up that requires a dress. Not that i need reminding of this as i am currently wallowing in a hole dug with my own tears. This is the kind of dress i would choose for said event though. Lace dresses are my absolute favourite. The sleeve detail…

Fifty Friday | Spring Occasion Looks

Occasion looks are always highly requested. Be it wedding guest, Christening or Communion mammy, there is always a lot of interest in this topic. Of course we always want to look our best, but when it comes to big occasions we want to look that bit nicer. That and the photos that come back to haunt us lol. I find with most ladies i speak to that the hardest part is finding something appropriate that is also stylish. You want to feel comfortable too and hopefully be able to wear the outfit again. Here i have put together some looks for those big events you have coming up this Spring. As always each look comes in under or as close…

Look Of The Day #31

This here is one of the looks that i put together for my church occasions post. The outfit in it’s entirety has now been reduced in the New Look Sale! Yes i am sooo late with this post i know. But look here is an outfit for upcoming Communions / Christenings / Confirmations and Weddings at a bargain price. A great spring colour dress with a very flattering shape. You cannot go wrong with a good skater dress. The lace detail on the waist is really pretty and adds a little something. Keeping the accessories neutral in colour for an understated chic look. Very pretty and simple look with no fuss.  Dress €12 , Shoes €11.20 , Clutch €8 . All New Look

Look Of The Day #30

I could waffle on here for two paragraphs but the truth is this is a great skirt. The price is amazing at €14 but that aside the skirt can stand on it’s own. A white, lace, midi skirt that just ticks so many boxes. I tried this on because i thought the own downfall could be how it sits on the body. I was happy with how it looked on. So here it is, a look or two. As with a lot of my styling i love putting tees with dressier skirts. I liked that idea but thought it needed something. These tie hem tees sit really well on the waistband of the skirt. The tie giving that so-called something. The reasoning…

Look Of The Day #29

Tonight’s look has a really fresh vibe to it. Clean lines with a pop of colour from the top. The pinstripe midi skirt could be styled to be typically nautical or given a modern twist. I think some people are fearful of what to pair with navy. I like how the yellow looks alongside it and think the top will look great tucked into the skirt. I went with a white mid heel to tie in with the stripe of the skirt but a tan sandal would look well too. Just a little necklace to finish off the bare shoulders. I think i would feel happy wearing this one. Isn’t there something about the colour yellow that makes you happy. I…

Look Of The Day #28

I have been eyeing up this top for awhile now. My favourite bardot style neckline in a beautiful lace. I adore the finish on the sleeves and can see how flattering the cut will be on. I have paired it here with something different than my usual A-line skirts. Some really smart culottes in a modern print stripe. The colour palette is really soft and subtle with the light pink as the main tone. The solid black stripe makes them easy to tie in with basic black pieces in your wardrobe. As the pants finish at a culotte length it was a great opportunity to show a sandal with detail. The lace up design adds some interest but keeping them…

Fifty Friday | Poolside Please

As i set down to map out this weeks post i had a completely different idea in mind. After a trip to Penneys and seeing this swimming suit that all changed. I have been trying to hold off on Summer shopping but i think when it comes to swimwear you have to strike while the iron is hot. Sizes get whipped up so quickly and before you know it there is only odds and ends left. Cover ups and accessories are the kind of things you can pick up here and there and you won’t feel it adding up.   When i think back to years ago, basic top and shorts were as exciting as it got. The odd kaftan…

Look Of The Day #27

The newly lauched RI Plus range is going from strength to strength. There is more and more styles being added almost daily. More up to the moment fashion forward styles for ladies size 18-24. One of the best things to come from this range is the jeans. The struggle is eternal to find the right jeans no matter what size you are. Having more curves can make this task more of a challenge. Some of River’s most famous jeans are now available in this size section.  Here i’ve started out with a nice high waisted indigo wash denim. A great wardrobe staple. The high rise fit will be flattering on. I added a slogan tee in this seasons cool khaki.…

Camo Print Trousers

Awhile back Primark posted this look and instantly shared it on my Facebook. The outfit featured a bargain pleather jacket and some fab heels. What stood out though was the printed trousers. There was a lot of interest in the camo print. I along with you waited and waited in hope they would land in Penneys. Alas it was not to be. I never seen sight nor sound of these pants instores. I had remembered them though and as the camo and utility pieces were starting to arrive for festival season, i thought id seek out an alternative pair.   Image : Primark I came across a really nice pair in Bershka. The same sort of fit and as afordable…

Look Of The Day #26

Pinafores landed back with a bang last season and have continued to pick up momentum since. Adding in the rebirth of denim dresses make them a force to be reckoned with. A denim dress in a dark wash is a great investment for year round wear. Tights, boots and lots of layering in the colder months. Bare legs, sandals or trainers come the sunshine days. Extremely wearable and extremely versitile. There are so many styling possibilties with denim. You can change it up by the top you choose to wear underneath. Collar shirts can smarten up the look. I personally really like how off the shoulder tops look with pinafore styles. A bright white bardot looks really well against the…
