Yesterday’s June Tuesday saw Bloggers and press alike gather in the Chocolate Factory in Dublin’s city. This amazing space was home to the much anticipated Penneys A/W showcase. Penny’s who also trade as Primark , have long been a staple for Irish fashion at affordable prices. its stature on our high street is ever growing. Come on girls have all replied “Penny’s…a fiver!” when complimented on something we are wearing.
This A/W has shown no different. Ever present affordable staples and basics to trend driven pieces. For me emphasis was placed on adornment. Jewels and sequins were apparent on dresses and knits. Very rich textures were seen including; quilted leathers, bouclé knits, metallics, studs, from baroque prints to tartans.
Overall a colourful and luxurious A/W drop.
Accessories as ever with Penneys were bang on trend. With most statement necklaces only costing a mere €5. Do not underestimate the power of these bad boys to transform even a basic tee. Bags go from tough clutches to oversized chic totes.
As with any winter, knits in the form of scarves and hats are an necessity. This season Penneys has took both a playful and chic approach to warmth. Two examples caught my eye-Beanie hats with pom-pom mickey mouse esque ears to check scarves, both have been huge on the blogger circut of late.
The footwear collection could stand alone (get it), its that strong. styles mimicked really current trends in a very wearable way. Sporty 80’s inspired spindle heels and ankle strap sandals are available at throw away prices. Quilted leather and tough biker boots are there to keep our feet warm, comfy and fashionable during the never ending Irish winter.
Overall im excited about the colourful and luxurious season to arrive.
