This week i have added another animal to the zoo that is my wardrobe. Dalmation print is one i hadn’t tried yet but was itching to get my teeth into. There has been so much leopard and zebra around that this pattern something different to give a go. It’s from an online brand called Pink Clove, who stock from sizes 16 up to a 26/28. I am familiar with the brand after shopping it on ASOS over the years. They kindly let me choose an outfit to try out and report on.
Being monochrome this print is right up my street. The dress itself has a gorgeous silhouette. It gives my waist great shape with the cut and draws the eye in under the bust with a twist detail. I enjoy playful short dresses with long sleeves. It’s the balance of the two i think.
The things i noted after trying this look on were as follows : I sized up on the dress and i definetly needed it. It was snug but a comfy snug. The length was on the short side so i put tights on. I am not tall by any means (5 foot 4 inches) and i found it a little shorter. I feel though it was more a case of the skirt riding up and catching under my bust as i moved or lifted my arms. I loved it on as i said though so not a huge negative. The fabric wasn’t too light but looking here i can see the tights underneath so that might be worth noting.
I popped a chunky knit ontop too, to show another way to wear. By adding a jumper over you can quickly create a new look and get some more wear out of your dresses. Possibly in a more casual setting than they where designed for. You now have a skirt to play with.
Maybe this piece would work better for some as a tunic paired over leggings or leather trousers etc. I really want to try it with some cycling shorts, i imagine that looking really cool and different.
I am looking forward to shopping more on their site. They are an affordable plus sized brand that offer trend based fashion for bigger ladies. I’ve my eye on a check shirt dress. Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the site.
I’ve just seen that they have a discount code for money off on their site. The codes seem to change daily so it is worth having a look at the top bar before checking out. You could grab yourself a bargain or two.
