Polka dots are set to keep gaining momentum again this season and none more so than midis. This style is just so easy to wear. I have so much love for the style and look of these dresses and their versatility. Dressed up or down it will work for you. I think it safe to say we all remember THAT Zara dress last Summer. It was everywhere and rightly so it was a great dress and suited many different shapes. Obviously it sold out and only came in the sizes that Zara stock so i’ve put together so other options that are size inclusive and maybe a little different.
Polka Dot Midi Dresses
I do really like the shape of this one that i am wearing here from Boohoo. It is great on and fits very well with no tightness or pulling under the arms either. The waist has some structure and pulls you in by the eye but then flows beautifully down the rest of the way. It is an absolute steal too if you are in the market for this style. Worn here with some statement boots and a pop of colour from the hairband. Having a monochrome palette allows you to add in a bold colour block or print with accessories, bags, jackets or shoes easily. I went for the black option with the thought process of getting the most wear from it that way. It is enough on it’s own but also works well with colour block styling.
You could add heels, a belt & clutch for a night out or a biker jacket and chunky boots for a concert. I will be probably be wearing mine day to day with converse the most i’d imagine. This dress is still light enough to rock with gladiator sandals in warmer weather if you are off away or if / when we get a Summer. This girl lives in hope.
Things have moved on and evolved like they do with fashion so there is now more styles and options to chose from. We have seen sleeve length change, hem length too. Moving more in the smock style direction but i mean how bad right. There are lots of colour options in both the print itself and the background too. Speaking of print, i’ve seen some variations of the sizing and placement of the polka dot pattern as well as more abstract takes. Dalmation and animal prints are along the same lines in these type of dresses. I’ve linked some options below to shop in regular sizing , plus , tall , maternity and petite. In both black and white like the original. Some with shirt details too cause we love a shirt dress. There is a lot of choice for a chuck on and go. Maybe you might have got in on the action last year and this post might remind you of how fab this style is. A possible comfy yet somewhat normal while all of this craziness is going on.
That is it for my little round. Not much too it but isn’t that also a good thing. A nice, reliable pieces that will work with you whatever your wardrobe requires. Are you in?
