White boots – the marmite of footwear. No not Crocs , don’t even go there. There once was a time where those two words in the same sentence would be enough to make me shudder. * White Boots * . Oh how times have changed. Fashion is funny that way. White footwear in general used to be considered on the tacky side. I hang my head in shame at the ones i wore circa 2004. Kitten heels no less. I don’t do things by halves me. A few years back now i shocked myself and picked up a pair of cut-out boots in the notorious white. I’m talking recent years here. They made for great summer wear with little floral dresses and leather jackets. I resided on the fact that they were only working because of the style they were in. Fast forward to present day and i now own two pairs. Better yet i am on the hunt for another pair. Who am i? Fashion works in weird and wonderful ways.

White Boots

There are lots of styles available that i think are far from tacky and are actually quite stylish. The right boots with the right clothes can be really cool. You might notice that some of the options have a black heel and or detail. I think the black really breaks up the solid white therefore making them more wearable for those who deem white footwear a little scary. Boots can be very heavy so a lighter colour option will lift your look. If you want to go further and add some interest, pair with opaque tights. Opt for an on trend western pair , a pointed flat style for day wear or some killer heels for a night out. There are so many options to choose from there is surely something for everyone.

I’ll be wearing mine with shirt dresses and midi skirts layered with denim or leather jackets through the Autumn. Other than that they pretty much go with all washes of denim for day to day wear. An indigo for a bright popping contrast or a light stone wash for a retro look. I have put together some ways to wear featuring really rich jewel tones like greens , burgundy and mustard. This to me is a real fail safe and stylish way to wear.
